Multi-Format Export

Export to Any Platform, in Any Format

Different platforms have different requirements. YouTube wants MP4. Social stories want vertical WebM. Accessibility teams want SRT files. CutSnap exports to every major format from a single project, saving you from running multiple tools or maintaining separate workflows.

Benefits
Why Multi-Format Export in CutSnap
Video: MP4 & WebM
Export burned-in subtitle videos as MP4 (H.264 or H.265) for broad compatibility, or WebM (VP9) for web delivery with smaller file sizes. Resolution, bitrate, and codec are all configurable.
Subtitles: SRT, VTT & TXT
Export the caption track independently as an SRT file for YouTube, a WebVTT file for HTML5 video, or a plain TXT transcript for accessibility documentation. All formats are derived from the same source-of-truth caption JSON.
Resolution & Codec Control
Choose your output resolution (720p or 1080p, and 4K on Studio), target bitrate, and codec independently for each export. Downscale for social media without affecting the master project, or export the same video at multiple resolutions from a single click.
How It Works
Format Options and Export Settings
1

Video export options

When you initiate a video export, a settings drawer appears with options for: output format (MP4 or WebM), video codec (H.264, H.265, or VP9), resolution (source, 1080p, 720p, 480p, or custom), target bitrate (in Mbps), audio codec (AAC or Opus), and whether subtitles should be burned into the video or attached as a soft-coded track. Your choices are remembered as defaults for future exports.

2

Subtitle-only exports

If you only need the caption file — for uploading to a video platform that supports external subtitle tracks, or for providing a transcript to a client — you can export without rendering any video at all. SRT and VTT exports are generated instantly from the caption JSON, with no render queue wait. TXT export produces a clean reading transcript with paragraph breaks at natural pause points.

3

Batch export for multiple formats

Need the same video in three formats for different distribution channels? Add multiple export jobs from the same project in one go. Each job enters the render queue independently, and you receive a notification when all formats are ready for download. This is especially useful for content teams that post to YouTube (MP4 1080p), Instagram Reels (MP4 720p vertical), and LinkedIn (MP4 720p landscape) simultaneously.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

Does CutSnap support vertical (9:16) video export?

Yes. CutSnap preserves your source video's aspect ratio in the export. If you upload a vertical video, the exported file is vertical.

What is the maximum export resolution?

Creator and Pro plans export at 1080p and 30fps, and Studio exports up to 4K. The Free plan exports at 720p and 24fps with a CutSnap watermark. You can upload source footage up to 4K — it is downscaled to the export resolution of your plan.

Can I export the video without subtitles?

Yes. You can export the clean video without any captions, which is useful if you only need the SRT file and want to keep the original video untouched.

Is there a file size limit for exports?

There is no file size limit on exports. The source video upload limit is 4GB per file.
